On Memorial Day, prominent Republicans were duped by journalist Ken Klippenstein into retweeting a military portrait of President John F. Kennedy’s killer, Lee Harvey Oswald.
Among those duped were Congressman Matt Gaetz, Matt Schlapp, and Dinesh D’Souza. A national security reporter for The Intercept named Klippenstein tweeted to the guys.
Under false pretences, urging them to retweet a military portrait of Oswald.
The journalist is well-known for his trolling on Twitter and has previously engaged in an online feud with Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk over an old photo of Musk and Jeffrey Epstein’s colleague Ghislaine Maxwell.

While Lee Harvey Oswald trended on Twitter on Memorial Day, the messages and screenshots of the tweets were among the top trends. A number of Twitter users made fun of Republican gullibility.
Mr. Schlapp was also ridiculed for an earlier tweet in which he made fun of Kamala Harris by claiming that “they don’t even know what Memorial Day is” and that the “woke crew” in the White House has no patriotic loyalty.
After Candace Owens, a political analyst, lashed out at a journalist for “photoshopping killers in the uniform of war veterans” for laughs, the journalist became a target of ridicule on social media.
The picture was not altered, as many on social media were quick to point out; rather, it was a picture of Oswald when he served in the United States Marine Corps.
