Kylian Mbappé, a great football player for France, is confident in his long-term prospects.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a transfer away from Paris Saint Germain in 2021, but it is apparent that the French capital plays a significant role in his future plans.
Mbappe talked at length to the French sports paper L’Equipe about his hopes and plans for the future, including participating in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The Olympics are the Pinnacle of Athletic Competition. Mbappé
Mbappe did not have the finest summer, as PSG once again fell short in their quest for a first UEFA Champions League crown, he missed a penalty as France went out of Euro 2020 to Switzerland in the Round of 16, and his club prevented him from also competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
I was stopped off before I could finish saying that [Tokyo 2020] was a target, but the Paris 2024 Games are much more important “The man spoke up and explained.
“I will not allow anything stand in the way of including this in my contract if it becomes necessary. For at least a portion of the summer of 2024, my plans are set. The centennial Olympic Games are being held in France. My entire life, that’s all I’ve imagined for myself.”
Mbappe has no qualms about playing with the French Under-23 team if he is picked as one of the three over-age players for the men’s Olympic tournament roster.
“If you’re a sports fan, it’s terrific, but it’s not the best football competition.
Mbappé’s Goal for Paris 2024 is to Bring Honour to France.
Disappointment arose when one of the sport’s top personalities wasn’t included in the French team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, despite having previously stated his desire to participate.
, last but not least, the player.
“I felt a deep sense of loss. That’s too bad. To me, it appears like a boycott from the clubs despite my admiration for the players that showed up.”
Though Mbappé did not complete his transfer from PSG to Real Madrid during the European transfer window, he will have Olympic gold medalist Leo Messi join him and Rio 2016 champion Neymar in France for the 2021/22 season.
Nevertheless, he was able to watch French Olympians shine on the biggest sporting stage in Tokyo despite everything that was going on behind the scenes.
“The athletes in any of these sports, whether they are men or women, have my utmost respect. They snatched the gold from there. They accomplished something of which all of France might be proud. In the year 2024, it is my sincere desire to have that experience and achieve the same results.”
With the 2024 Olympics in Paris less than three years away, the reigning FIFA World Cup champion has set his sights on achieving the pinnacle of sporting achievement.
However, he isn’t the only major football star interested in participating in the Paris 2024 Games; Antoine Griezmann has also voiced a desire to represent France in the competition.
We can hardly wait.
