J. Jang is a taekwondo expert from South Korea. In 2018, he won two World Taekwondo Grand Prix championships and the gold medal.

J. Jang Battles Back From COVID-19 to Claim Roma 2022 Gold
Even though he’s only 22 years old, Korean taekwondo champion J. Jang already has a medal haul that would make even seasoned sportsmen green with envy.
On Friday night, at the Roma 2022 World Taekwondo Grand Prix, he added another gold to his collection.
In 2017, Jang participated in his first Grand Prix. Five gold, one silver, and two bronze Grand Prix medals were added to his collection at the conclusion of 2019.
But then the COVID-19 epidemic broke out, and he, like all athletes, was forced to take an extended hiatus from competitive Taekwondo.
Last year he competed at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, and he kept his hot streak going by winning bronze.
A month before the 2022 World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Roma, he caught COVID-19 and had to withdraw from the competition.
Taekwondo Practitioner J. Jang Wins Bronze in Men’s 58 Kilogram
On Saturday, world number one J. Jang lost a surprising semifinal match to Tunisia’s Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi, but he still managed to win bronze in the men’s 58 kilogramme division.
In the bronze medal match, Jang defeated Omar Salim of Hungary with a score of 46 to 16. Jang dominated all three rounds.
Jang not only outclassed Salim in terms of raw talent, but he also displayed considerably more outstanding economy of movement.
Opting for higher-scoring kicks rather than the lower-scoring movements that Salim tended to choose.

Since taekwondo was officially introduced as an Olympic sport at the Sydney 2000 Games, only one country has consistently dominated the competition: South Korea.
J. Jang, at the tender age of 22, is already a part of that illustrious history, having brought home bronze from the men’s under-58 kg flyweight event in the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Despite his young age, Jang has a wealth of professional expertise. When he was just 18, he won the under-51 kilogramme division of the World Championships.
The next year, he added the Asian youth title, defeating Carlo Dionisio of the Philippines by a score of 42-6.
