Genshin Impact’s Biggest Update Yet Adds Japan-Inspired Region

This is the moment Genshin Impact players have been anticipating essentially since the game’s release.

On July 21, players will finally be able to visit Inazuma, the much-talked-about Japanese-themed zone in the game.

In addition, the Chinese studio Mihoyo has decided to bump the game’s version number from 1.6 to 2.0 because the update is so substantial.

The future patch will focus on the new territory of Inazuma, which is around the same size as the existing regions of Mondstadt and Liyue.

Genshin Impact's Biggest Update Yet Adds Japan-Inspired Region

Inazuma is the anime-influenced game’s first attempt at a region clearly inspired by Japanese customs, in contrast to the former

Which has a sort of Breath of the Wild-meets-high-fantasy vibe, and the latter, which pays respect to numerous parts of Chinese culture.

Players will Be Able to Cross the Sea to Inazuma in Genshin 2.0

Players will be able to go to Inazuma, a huge land ruled by the Electro Archon, in the next 2.0 update to Genshin Impact, dubbed “The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia.”

Isolated and influenced by Japan’s geography and culture, this country consists of six islands and is frequently hit by violent storms.

Genshin Impact 2.0 not only continues the main story and adds new areas to explore and bosses to fight.

But it also adds three more playable characters from Inazuma to go along with the already established Kazuha.

Inazuma “Nation of Eternity” comes to Genshin Impact with v2.0 update

The most notable change in the v2.0 update is the addition of the Inazuma area to the already present Liyue and Mondstadt regions.

Electro (lightning) is the dominant element in Inazuma, defining all gameplay features and the general design of the region.

Whilst Anemo (wind) and Geo (earth) are the underlying themes of Mondstadt and Liyue, respectively.

As an added bonus, you can now choose to have your main character partner up with Electro, allowing for a plethora of new possible lineups right off the bat.
