Snapchat’s primary function is to facilitate communication among friends; hence, the app’s settings restrict the visibility of your profile to strangers and restrict access to the majority of your content to your friends’ lists.
However, you also have the option of creating a public Snapchat profile. In this way, your Shapchat material can be discovered and shared by other users. You may easily make your profile public, making it a useful tool for expanding your audience and spreading your information.
What Exactly is a Public Snapchat Profile?
The public profile option in Snapchat is a recent addition to the social media app that makes it possible for other users to find you via the app’s search and browsing features, or when your Snaps are featured in the Spotlight.
In order to get more Snapchat followers, you might promote your public profile on other social media networks. Your Snapchat stories and other content will be discoverable by all other Snapchatters, whether or not you are friends, if you make your profile public.
Other users can now subscribe to your account in place of becoming friends with you (and you can even boast about how many people subscribe to your account). You can still privately share content with friends without making it available to paying users.
Who can Create a Snapchat Account that Others May View?
Generally speaking, anyone can start a public Snapchat account. There are only a handful of restrictions:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Your account needs to be at least 24 hours old, so make sure it’s not brand new.
- At the very least, you need to have one friend who has friended you back.
- There can be no infractions of Snapchat’s rules on your account.
If you match all of the requirements but still don’t see the option to create a public profile on Snapchat, it’s possible that you aren’t located in a location that supports the service.
How to Make Your Snapchat Account Visible to the Public
Creating a public profile is a quick and easy process.
- Launch Snapchat by tapping the profile symbol in the upper left corner.
- Select the Create Public Profile option from the Public Profile menu.
- You will be taken to a website that explains public profiles. Get going by tapping Continue (or swiping to the next page).
- To do so, select Create from the pop-up menu.
Your public profile is complete.
Snapchat’s Public Profile editing and Deletion Procedures
You can add or change your bio, location, and subscription status after making your profile public. Aside from reading stories, you may also save them to your profile. The steps are as follows:
- Select the Snapchat profile icon in the upper left corner of the app.
- Select My Public Profile from the Public Profile menu.
- Select the cogwheel-shaped Settings icon in the upper right.
- You can do any of the following on the Manage Public Profile page:
Update your info here.
You may adjust your profile image, bio, and location by selecting the adjust Profile button. Swipe the button to the right to make your subscriber total visible to the public.
Save stories to your profile.
Snaps that you add to your public profile can be viewed by everyone. Select the Snaps you want to share by tapping Save a Story to your Profile.
Share your profile.
To copy the Snapcode to the clipboard, press Share Profile, and then in the pop-up, tap Share Profile URL. This code can then be used in other programmes or services.
Delete your public profile.
A public profile doesn’t obligate you to do anything. Select Delete Public Profile from the menu’s drop-down menu. Your regular Snapchat account will not be affected.
