Indian sport shooter and Arjuna Award winner Master Chief Petty Officer S. Rajput was born in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana on January 5, 1981.

Formerly serving in the Indian Navy, he eventually retired as a Junior Commissioned Officer. Krishan Lal, a native of Jagadhri, and his wife Dimple gave birth to S. Rajput on January 5.

He attended SD Public School in Jagadhri, Haryana. He joined the Indian Navy as a sailor when he was 18 and served until 2014.

S. Rajput and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, two Indian shooters, did not qualify for Monday’s gold medal match in the men’s 50-meter rifle, 3-positions event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

India’s Olympic shooting competition finished with the men’s 50-meter rifle three-position elimination round.

Only one of India’s 15 shooters, Saurabh Chaudhary, advanced to the medal round of his event; he placed seventh in the men’s 10 metre air pistol.

Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, an Olympic rookie, qualified in 21st place with a total of 1167, while S. Rajput struggled to qualify in 32nd place with a total of 1157.

Eight competitors have qualified for the final round of the 50-meter rifle, 3-positions event.

Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) member Sergey Kamenskiy, silver medalist from Rio 2016, qualified first overall with a score of 1183.

Similar to Kamenskiy’s 78 inner 10s, the Chinese player Changhong Zhang also had the same total.

S. Rajput Fail to Qualify for 50m Rifle 3 Positions Final

On Monday, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, a young man from India, shot 1167 and finished 21st in the men’s 50-meter rifle 3-position event at the Olympics.

The 20-year-old Aishwary put up a valiant effort, missing the final by only nine points, while the 32-year-old S. Rajput, competing in his third Olympics, scored an impressive 1157 and finished in 32nd place.

Aishwary shot 397 in the kneeling position, 391 in the prone position, and 379 in the standing position, putting him in 21st place out of 39 competitors.

Chinese shooter Zhang Changhong, age 21, broke the world record with a final round score of 466.0, denying Olympic silver medalist Sergey Kamenskiy a repeat victory.

On the qualification stage, both Zhang and Kamenskiy scored 1183.
